Our Mexican Riviera
Sapphire Princess Cruise December 2009
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We were awake when we got to Cabo this morning. We saw some ships were following us. It turned out we would have four ships in port today. Radiance of the Seas, Oosterdam, and the Azamara Journey. It was quite busy since everyone has to tender here.
We had an excursion planned here and were to meet on shore at 10:20am. We received our priorty tender tickets last night in our cabin. We didn't have to meet in a lounge but when we were ready we made our way to the tender.
We were using some of the ports tenders along with our own. We were on a port tender going ashore.
We were on shore for maybe 20 minutes before we found the right person to take us to our excursion. We were boarding a two level catamaran to cruise the coastline and then do some whale watching.
Once we were onboard there wasn't many other passengers to board and soon we were off. There are some interesting rock formations jutting out of the water with a beautiful beach. They showed us some sea lions on the way by.
Here are some of our pictures of Cabo.
We went quite a ways out and started looking for the whales. It wasn't long till we started seeing them. There were a few other boats looking for whale sightings too. There was one that had a couple of passengers and the whales were doing a show for them! The were jumping out of the water, slapping their tail on the water. It was a sight!
Here are our whale watching photos.
This excursion is short as we are to leave port at 2pm. The last tender is at 1pm. When our catamaran got back to port the slip we had been parked in was full. We sat for 20 minutes or so waiting for them to leave. We had about 10 minutes to spare before the last tender was to leave so we hurried to do our shopping. I told Jerry to go ahead and get in line and go on back to the ship but he wanted to wait for me.
I got our stuff and checked out, we made our way around the corner
looking for the Sapphire Princess sign and saw a long line. We kept walking looking for the end of the line which snaked around. We were in line for a good 50 minutes before we finally were on the tender. At least we weren't the last tender back to the ship, there were more people behind us.
Once back on the ship Jerry headed to our cabin and I headed up to get us cheeseburgers for lunch. We were hungry as by now it was after 2pm. We didn't set sail until about 2:20pm.
This is formal night so we will be dressing up for dinner. Not so sure if we will make it to the New Year's Eve festivities or not. We are both pretty tired after a couple of hours in the sun.
We have one full day of sailing tomorrow before we are back in LA.
