Katakolon/Olympia Greece

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

We came into port about 8am this morning. Katakolon is a sleepy little fishign village. They say it has a population of 300. There are four ships total in port today so the influx must be crazy for the locals. There are two Costa ships, a Regal ship here with us.

Jerry and I slept in and it sure felt good. We aren't doing anything organized today. We are just taking it easy and enjoying the day.

We had breakfast and then made our way to town. It was a short walk maybe 5 minutes if that. If you don't have a tour here there are cars to rent, taxi drivers waiting to take you somewhere and even a horse drawn wagon with a roof for a ride. There is also a train that will take you to Olympia that has a stop here at the edge of town.

We chose to walk and that we did through town and back to the ship. Crown Princess in portWe weren't gone an hour before we were back on board. We bought our trinket and I got a t-shirt before we headed back to the ship. We have just spent the rest of the day doing nothing really. We have really enjoyed our balcony today because we have been shaded most of the day and it's quite comfortable. The temperature here on the balcony is 77 degrees.

Tonight is our second formal night so Jerry called and made dinner reservations for us. We will go to dinner at 5:30pm.

Here's our pictures from today. I will not post more from this stop when we get home because there wasn't a lot to see.
