I got up this morning and met Donna in the lobby. We were headed back to the city. We caught the hotel shuttle to the train station and then we were off to the Hop On Hop Off bus once we arrived at Times Square.
We grabbed some breakfast and ate it on the bus. We got off the bus at Ground Zero and walked around the site of the World Trade Center. Then made our way through St. Pauls Church where they helped the workers in the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
Once we were back on the bus we went over to the South Street Seaport stop so we could redeem our receipts for tickets on the Zephyr for the harbour cruise in our package.
We went all along the harbour and by Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty before turning back and coming back to Pier 17. It was a truly nice cruise even though a bit chilly but we sat on the side so we were out of a lot of wind.
I had hoped to make our way to the Uptown Loop bus but we had run out of time as we had to be back at the hotel at 7:30pm for our meeting. I will have to wait till next time to see Harlem.
We got off the bus at Rockafeller Center and walked back over to Times Square to the port authority and found our train. We boarded the express train. We arrived back at the Main Street Flushing station and caught the Q48 bus back to the hotel.
Once back at the hotel, Donna and I checked with the front desk about an Italian restaurant nearby. We were given a sheet with some restauarnts on it and told one of them in particular was a really good restaurant. We went upstairs and dropped off our things and went back down to catch a cab to the restaurant.
A limo came and picked us up to take us to Picolla Venezia. Our driver, Angel gave us his card to call him and he would come back to pick us up and take us back to the hotel. The food was very good. As we finished dinner we called for our ride and Angel's brother came to pick us up instead. It seems it was his shift. He was really nice and talked with us all the way back to the hotel. I will save his card for our next trip here to call for a ride.
