Our Hawaii Trip - Maui/Oahu Day Five

Jerry, Toby and I flew to Oahu on Wednesday. When we got to the airport on Maui we weren't sure what time we would finally leave. The line was all the way out the door just to check in at the counter at Hawaiian Airlines. Someone behind us found out about using the "checkin service" which it turns out was like using the Skycap. We paid the guy $10 to take our bags and get us checked in.

We were excited and thought we might see if we could get on the next available fight but when we got to the line for security we decided against that one. The line was long but it did go fast. We were at the gate and ready for boarding by noon and our flight was to board at 12:20pm but their was another flight starting to load for Honolulu shortly after we sat down.

We got into Honolulu about 1:34pm as scheduled and our bags were already sitting there waiting for us. They apparently went out on the flight that left right before us. We got on the shuttle and got our car.

We were due to get a Chrysler Sebring convertible, that I wasn't too thrilled about but oh well, I got to drive the Mustang so I was content. They asked if I would rather have a Sebring or a Chrysler PT Cruiser convertible. I took the PT Cruiser. It sits a bit higher than the Sebring and Mustang so that was great and the kicker was it was a convertible!

We headed out of the airport area and took the wrong road and ended up heading onto a military base just outside of Pearl Harbor. The guard let us make a u-turn and we got on the right road. He wasn't too thrilled with our ignorance!

We were thrilled with the beautiful scenery and we were on the highway H3 which isn't supposed to be known for the scenery. We made it to the Kailua Guesthouse with no problems and got checked in and unloaded.

Everyone was hungry because we just snacked on things we had leftover at the condo so the guys didn't really think they had lunch today. We went to a Mexican restuarant. Jerry and I have been to Mexican restuarants that were no where near Mexico in the past but this one was excellent. It was called the "Mexico Lindo" and I had the Kaulua Pig tacos. Jerry had the crab salad and Toby a HUGE burrito.

We drove to the closest beach afterwards and then back to the guesthouse. Toby and I left Jerry here and went off to explore. We drove to a couple of villages around and then headed back.
