Our Hawaii Trip - Maui Day Four

Jerry, Toby and I left about 10am to head to Whaler's Village to get on board the Teralani for our "sailing adventure". We had talked about catching the ferry to Lanai but in everything we have read you have to rent a car once you're there to see anything and there aren't a lot of cars to rent so we decided against it. Jerry found the Teralani cruise and we got it booked this morning.

We boarded the catamaran about 10:30am and went just south of there and set anchor for the snorkel part of the trip. We were anchored near a wharf that had been built by some pineapple farmers but it was not used much until WWII. A lot of the war ships were docked out here. Part of the wharf through the years has fallen into the water from the storms and tides and such. It makes for good sea life.

Jerry and I sat through the snorkel 101 class that was held after the pros jumped off the end of the boat. Toby was in the first batch of people off the boat. Jerry got in and I was behind him a little bit but by the time I got into the water he was long gone and of course so was Toby.

I didn't stay in the water long. I didn't see much either. Once I saw a couple of fish and realized how deep the water was I headed back to the boat.

They did reposition the boat once one of the others left and it was supposed to be good but I had already climbed aboard and was done. I had snorkeled in Cozemel before and was ok with it because I could get my feet under me but here it was really deep so I had some anxiety about that but I got in there!

Once everyone boarded the boat again we made our way further south and then headed back to Kaanapali. We disembarked about 3pm and headed back to the condo where we relaxed and I cut up the fresh pineapple I had bought at the farmer's market down the road.

Jerry and I both agreed the crew on this catamaran was the best that we've ever experienced. There was a couple of girls ages 7 and 9 on there, one of the crew took them all around in the water and they eventually ended up laying on a surf board while the crew member took them around.
