Our Hawaii Trip - Maui Day One

Jerry, Toby and I are here on Maui for Kimberly and Blake's beach wedding. We will be on Maui for five days before flying over to Oahu on Wednesday afternoon.

This is Toby's first trip to Maui. Jerry and I were here on a trip in 1998. Where we took in a lot of the sights so now we are going to try to hit some other things we didn't see then. You can see our pictures for that trip when you click here.

We didn't really plan a lot of things to do ahead of time as we usually do. We do have some things picked out though.

We boarded the plane at DFW on Saturday, October 21st about noon. We were a little late leaving because there was some passengers with connections that were late getting in. We were finally pushing away from the gate about 12:30pm. We are due to land at Kaihula, Maui about 3:20pm. There is a five hour time difference between Dallas and Maui.

We arrived a little early but waited about 45 minutes for our luggage. We finally boarded the Budget Car Rental shuttle that took us to our Ford Mustang Convertible. I was so excited because I did not want a Chrysler Sebring and half of my paperwork kept coming in showing we were getting the Sebring. I was able to pick my color and I went with BLUE. We had to put the top down to get the remaining luggage in that wouldn't fit into the trunk.

Robert (Kimberly's brother) and Shyla followed us to the Mahina Surf where we are all staying. We did get rained on by the time we made it to Kannapali. Toby was in the back seat getting the worst of it.

We finally arrived to our condos about 5:20pm. We couldn't wait to get settled in.

Apparently Kimberly, Blake, her mom and step dad were stuck in LA for three hours while they worked on the ac on the airplane. They were due to arrive a couple of hours before us but ended up getting in after we had left the airport.
