Our
Charleston Trip - Day Three |
USS Yorktown and Beach |
This was another early day. We headed down
for breakfast after our showers. We then came back to the room and gathered
our things to go to Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Musuem, which is where
the USS Yorktown is anchored. We were able to tour the Living & Working
spaces, Engine Room, Flight Deck & Bridge, Wardroom & Ship's Brig and
Captain & Flag Officer In-Port Quarters before we went to tour the submarine,
Clamagore.
Once we finished our tours we headed to the Isle of Palms to eat lunch and visit the beach. We set out to eat at the One-Eyed Parrot but found they are only open for dinner. So instead we went to Coconut Joe's Bar and Grill.
We went out to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean waves. We had a good time on the beach. There were a lot of people there but it wasn't so crowded you could not move. We were there for a little while before we decided we had enough sun and headed back to the car to come back to the hotel.
