Fort Sumter

Our Charleston Trip - Day Two

Fort Sumter

We were up early this morning to get ready to head downtown. We were going to the Aquarium area to board the Spirit of Charleston that would take us over to Fort Sumter. This is where the Civil War began on April 14,1861. Fort Sumter is a man made island that took 30 years to build.
