Ocho Rios Jamaica

Ocho Rios was our first trip together out of the country in 1996 so it was fun coming back. When we were here in 1996 we climbed Dunn's River Falls which is a big attraction so we didn't feel the need to do it again this time. We got a cab to Island Village where Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is located close to the dock, about a ten minute walk and a small shopping area.

We found some souvenirs and then roamed for a while before we found the Internet Cafe so we could check our email and make sure things were going ok at home. Once that was finished we went to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and had some Margaritas and a bite to eat while we enjoyed the scenery and the music.

We had hoped to visit a store that had wine so we could pick up some wine, water and Pepsi (We just love the Pepsi here.); instead of finding a wine store we found a guy who wanted to take us back to the ship and he said his parents owned the "shop" across the way. As it turned out the shop was a hut that was locked up but he found someone to open it up and we bought our Pepsi for $2.00 a piece. He sent someone to the bar next door for some bottled water we had also asked for. Then, he had another buddy drive us back to the ship. The "taxi" service runs about $4.00 for two people.
