This morning we woke up to find we were already in Port de France. We slept through it all so Jerry didn't get to take his customary pictures arriving in port. We hadn't planned much for this port because the native language is French and most of the taxi drivers do not speak English so we didn't feel a tour of the island would work well.

Instead we walked to the market did some shopping and then headed to the ferry which would take us to a hotel which had a nice beach. With this being a French island we were not surprised to see that tops were optional.

There was not much to choose from as far as beaches went because Hurricane Lenny came through the week before we did and really messed up the beaches.
