San Juan - El Morro

We got up the next morning and walked to El Morro it was maybe a twenty minute walk. We had always talked about going to visit the fort but the both times we were here the ship stopped for six hours but it was in the evening and the fort was closed by the time we had gotten into port.

El Morro protected the city from pirate ships or anyone else coming from the sea. We went through parts of the fort and then walked along the wall towards San Cristobal before heading back through town and back to the hotel to collect our bags and head to the ship.

San Cristoball quite a ways from El Morro but we do hope to visit it some other time. This fort protected San Juan from anyone coming from the east by land.
