New
Orleans 1998 |
|
This was our second trip to New Orleans. We really enjoyed our trip in April 1996 and couldn't wait to go back again for all the wonderful food.
We drove from San Antonio to New Orleans and spent a night at the Royal Sonesta. We had attended a silent auction and had gotten the hotel through the auction. We then packed up and went over to stay the next two nights at the Lafitte Guest House.
We planned on partying on Bourben Street and was thrilled to find a parade on St Patrick's Day that started at 10pm. The cops came through clearing the street and then came the parade.
We took a river boat ride up the Mississippi River. We went out to the Jean Lafitte Swamp Tour before we headed to Houston. We stopped off at Avery Island to visit the Tabasco factory and store.
