Maui 1998 Day 4 - Sunrise
|
We got up early about 3am to be exact and made our way up to the top of the Volcano, Haleakala. We had heard the sight was exquisite and it was all we had heard and then some. A sight I will never forget. We watched as the sun came up, we were above the clouds so it was a sight seeing it come up over the clouds. It was quite cold up there. We had grabbed hotel blankets to take with us and we had dressed in layers but it was still colder than we thought it would be.
Once the sun came up we were able to see some of the craters and then made our way down the mountain. There was some people who drove up there and then rode bicycles down the mountain. We saw them on the way down it wasn't an easy ride that was for sure.
