Our 10th Anniversary

 

This year our anniversary falls on Sunday. Super bowl Sunday to be exact. Jerry made reservations at the Wildwood Inn that is in Denton, Texas for Saturday evening. We had stayed here before three years ago. He got us a really nice room. We couldn't have dinner in the dining room this evening because they had a big function going on but they did give us the option of having dinner in our room. We decided to do this instead of going out somewhere.

Jerry had made arrangements to have flowers, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room when we arrived. It was wonderful. We had some California Sparkling Wine, which was great. We really enjoyed it. The strawberries were delicious and the flowers were beautiful.

We ordered dinner about 6pm and it was delivered shortly thereafter. We both had the Wildwood House Salad with Raspberry-Parmesan Vinaigrette. Our entrees were Grilled Beef Filet with Sauce Diane served Wildwood Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus and Marinated Breast of Chicken in a Mushroom Cream Sauce served with Wildwood Mashed Potatoes and Asparagus.

We enjoyed the room immensely. We had a beautiful fireplace that could be enjoyed from the sitting area and the bedroom area. We had a really nice balcony that overlooked the swimming pool.

I was able to enjoy the Jacuzzi tub after dinner. It is a two person tub but Jerry wasn't about to get in there. Jerry had brought some articles for me to read on "International Retirement". I enjoyed the articles. It gives you something to think about and we are getting to that point to think about retiring. I would love to live on a Caribbean Island.
